“The ‘Connecting Finance and Natural Capital: Supplement to the Natural Capital Protocol’ will provide Australian financial institutions with standardised guidance on how to incorporate natural capital impacts and dependencies into their lending, investment and insurance portfolios.
The Supplement was developed through pre-competitive collaboration with involvement from across the global financial sector, including here in Australia, and actively builds upon and harmonises existing work.
The Supplement will be launched in Australia on 18 June in Sydney, with a Workshop on the Supplement’s application to be held in Melbourne on 26 June. These Events are being hosted and supported by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand in collaboration with the Australian Business & Biodiversity Initiative and with the support of the Natural Capital Coalition and other partners.
The Events will offer unique first access to the global guidance, the chance to hear practical case studies from other leading financial institutions around the world, and to debate the drivers and challenges that we face when becoming pioneers of natural capital in the sector. The Agenda will cover an overarching introduction, networking, and, in Melbourne, a practical working session.
