Natural Capital Protocol, Government Training Program for Finnish Businesses

“Natural capital refers to all the services and benefits that a company receives from nature such as pure air, food, water, energy and raw materials used to make products. Natural capital also refers to the positive and negative impacts that companies have on nature. If natural capital is not included in the company’s decision-making, it is likely that the company will miss significant risks and opportunities.

International co-operation network In 2016, the Natural Capital Coalition published a Natural Capital Protocol framework for businesses that will enable companies to produce reliable and up-to-date information about the environment. Many companies, both large and small, have already adopted a reference framework around the world, among others, among others. H & M, Skanska, Suez, Unilever and Walmart.
