“15 March 2018 – The Global SDG Awards, the world’s first international, private sector focused sustainability competition based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework launched today at GLOBE Forum 2018 in Vancouver, BC. The global competition will be open to private sector companies and social enterprises with sustainability programs and business models that seek to achieve the SDGs.
The SDG framework, adopted by 193 countries in September 2015, outlines a framework for a better global future by 2030. The SDG framework provides a roadmap for businesses to take action on some of the most pressing issues confronting our world in the pursuit of a more prosperous, inclusive, and peaceful world.
“According to a recent PwC report, 62% of companies now include the SDGs in their annual sustainability reports. Despite this, less than 30% of those have set specific SDG targets.
