Encouraging birds of prey into agricultural areas controls rodent populations while reducing application of rodenticide

Engaging the private sector regarding biodiversity remains challenging, with businesses unsure about what actions they can and should take in managing impacts and dependencies on biodiversity and ecosystems.

The University of Oxford and the Joint Nature Conservation Committee, with the support of the Valuing Nature Programme, are undertaking a project to address this issue, and will be producing a series of easy to access briefing notes to support the private sector in contributing to international strategic goals to conserve biodiversity and demonstrate alignment between these and the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.

These organizations are calling on experts to highlight case studies demonstrating how business of all sizes are taking action regarding biodiversity. Further information on how to engage with the project, including an outline of objectives, is available here.
